This novel opens with the narrator, a 18 year-old girl having a shaving accident. It is very graphic and detailed account of her body and sexual habits. I love these three comps, but the publisher, already nervous about the contents of the book, decided to go with a less risqué cover. I call the first one “pubic hair explosion”. It resurfaced recently on the “Killed Covers” exhibit and sketchbook page of the NYT Book Review.
